Effects of Comprehensive Respiratory Function Training on Respiratory Function and Exercise Tolerance in Patients with Pulmonary Hypertension

Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of comprehensive respiratory function training on patients with pulmonary hypertension. Methods Forty-nine patients with pulmonary hypertension were randomly divided into control group (n=26) and intervention group (n=23). The control group received routine care. The patients in the intervention group were given comprehensive respiratory function training in addition to routine nursing. Results After 3-month intervention, the lung function index, blood gas indexes and 6-minute walking distance data were collected. The intentional analysis showed that the peak of expiratory flow in the intervention group, the first second expiratory volume as a percentage of the expected amount, oxygen partial pressure, carbon dioxide partial pressure, and 6-minute walking distance increased, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Comprehensive respiratory function training can improve patients' cardiopulmonary function and increase their exercise tolerance.
