Quality evaluation and content analysis of guidelines for time limit management in transfusion nursing

Abstract: Objective To systematically retrieve the guidelines regarding time limit management in transfusion nursing and evaluate the quality and extract the contents, and to provide reference for clinical time limit management in transfusion nursing. Methods Domestic and foreign databases, guide websites and websites of blood transfusion-related associations were systematically searched from the inception to May 5, 2023. The AGREE Ⅱ guideline evaluation tool was used to evaluate the methodological quality of the guidelines, and the recommended content related to time limit management in transfusion nursing was extracted. Results There were 1 Chinese guideline and 5 English guidelines, with 2 grade-A, and 4 grade-B guidelines according to AGREE Ⅱ evaluation tool. Six recommended topics were integrated including personnel management, information management, blood collection and transport, tool and equipment use, infusion speed and time management, and withdrawal regulations. Conclusion This study systematically searches clinical practice guidelines related to time limit management in transfusion nursing, and the overall quality is good. The 32 integrated recommendations provide reference for clinical practice of time limit management in transfusion nursing.
