Effect of Complication Experience on Disease Attitude and Glycemic Control Level in Type 2 Diabetic Patients

Abstract: Objective To explore the influence of complication experience on attitude towards disease and blood sugar control level of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients, and to provide reference for clinical nursing of diabetes mellitus. Methods A total of 125 cases of patients with T2DM were selected by convenience sampling and were allocated to intervention group (n=61) and control group (n=64). Both groups were given routine nursing of T2DM, while the intervention group was given experience intervention of diabetic complications. Disease attitude and glycosylated hemoglobin of the two groups at admission, discharge, 1 month, 3 and 6 months after the discharge were compared. Results All the patients completed the study. There was significant difference in the attitude toward disease between the two groups after the intervention (P<0.05). There was significant difference in the glycosylated hemoglobin between the two groups 3 and 6 months after discharge(P<0.05). Conclusions Complication experience can improve disease attitude of T2DM patients, and has a long-term effect on controlling the blood sugar level of patients.
