Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of mobile management program in bladder cancer patients undergoing ileum cystostomy. Methods In this study, non-contemporaneous controlled test was conducted. Sixty-three patients with bladder cancer who underwent ileostomy in the urological ward of a tertiary grade-A general hospital in Chengdu were selected as the study subjects. Patients who met the criteria for admission from March 2019 to September 2019 were assigned to the control group, and those from October 2019 to April 2020 to the intervention group. Patients in the control group had routine nursing measures during hospitalization, and received routine telephone guidance at the 4th week after discharge. In addition to conventional nursing measures, mobile management program was implemented in the intervention group during the hospitalization and 4 weeks after discharge,patients also received telephone guidance. Self-care ability and the incidence of complications of patients in two groups were collected. Results Comparison of self-care ability between the two groups one day before discharge showed statistical significance in terms of self-care intention and self-care knowledge (P<0.01) but there was no statistically significant difference in self-care skills (P>0.05). Comparison of self-care ability between the two groups 4 weeks after discharge showed statistical significance in terms of self-care willingness, knowledge and skill (P<0.01). Four weeks after discharge, complications occurred in 8 cases in the intervention group and 17 cases in the control group, indicating statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion Mobile management program is effective for improving self-care ability of patients with bladder cancer undergoing ileum cystostomy after discharge and reduce the incidence of complications.
