Complications in 161 Children PICC Maintenance Clinic and Its Nursing

Abstract: Objective To understand the complications in the catheter maintenance of children's PICC clinic, and to propose targeted nursing measures. Methods We conducted an observational study, and a self-designed PICC maintenance record sheet was used to describe the condition and record the treatment measures and effects of PICC maintenance. Results During the study, complications were observed in 161 of 998 children with PICC catheter in clinic, with an incidence of 16.1%; 155 children continued to use PICC after the treatment, and 6 PICCs were forced to pull out. Conclusion There are a few complications in children's PICC maintenance clinic, but professional nursing can prevent and deal with various complications and keep the good function of the catheter.
