Abstract: Objective To explore the real experience of nutritional care for patients with colorectal cancer undergoing chemotherapy based on the ABC-X model, and to provide reference for clinical nutrition management. Methods Descriptive phenomenology was used, and semi-structured interviews were conducted within the caregivers of 15 patients undergoing chemotherapy for colorectal cancer in a tertiary grade-a hospital in Shanxi Province. The data were analyzed and summarized with Colaizzi seven-step analysis method and the themes were extracted. Results Four themes were extracted: multiple stress of nutrition care, limited use of resources, desire for support, difference in cognition on nutrition care, and different levels of nutrition care. Conclusion The burden of nutritional care of caregivers should be considered. Supports at diverse levels and standardized and holistic nutrition management should be provided to help improve the ability of nutritional care, so as to better improve the nutritional status of patients.
