Results Three themes of filial piety motivation extracted from the study were:filial piety passed down from generation to generation, gratitude and feedback, and social expectation; three themes in terms of filial piety experience were sense of guilty, helplessness and stress-coping and five themes in filial piety behaviors were companionship, being obedient to parents, disease knowledge, comparison of filial piety and maintaining hope. Conclusion Children of advanced cancer patients have adequate knowledge on filial piety motivation. Negative emotions and hope for help and support are always found during this process.
