Abstract: Objective To investigate the perception of hospital magnet among nurses of grade-A tertiary general hospitals in Guangdong Province. Methods By regional stratified sampling, 1,972 nurses from 33 grade-A tertiary general hospitals in four regions in Guangdong Province were selected, and they were investigated by using the Essentials of Magnetism Scale. Results The score of magnet perception among nurses from grade-A tertiary general hospitals in Guangdong Province was 136.00 (135.00,166.00). Based on the distribution of percentile and grade, the score of magnet perception among nurses can be divided into five levels: very low, low, medium, high and very high. The non-parametric test showed that the score of magnet perception was significantly different among clinical nurses with different age, educational background, marital status, fertility condition, length of service, employment mode, professional title, position, department and night shift cycle(P<0.05). Conclusion The score of magnet perception among nurses from grade-A tertiary general hospitals in Guangdong Province is at a medium level, and it is affected by demographic characteristics.
