Abstract: Objective To investigate the status quo and influencing factors of cognitive function in lung cancer patients, and to provide subjective and objective reference for cancer-related cognitive impairment. Methods Convenience sampling was used to select 390 lung cancer patients admitted to Nanfang Hospital from October 2021 to August 2022, and the patients were surveyed by using general information questionnaire, Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Cognitive Functioning Scale (FACT-Cog), M.D. Anderson Symptom Inventory, and Nutritional Risk Rating Scale. After performing a rank-based inverse-normal transformation of the cognitive function score, multiple linear regression was used to analyze the influencing factors. Results The score of FACT-Cog of lung cancer patients was 121.00 (107.00, 126.00). Mental-emotional symptom cluster score, diagnosed time, leisure activity, NRS2002 score, sex, and age entered the regression equation, accounting for 42.4% of the total variation (P<0.05). Conclusion Self-reported cognitive function of lung cancer patients in this study maintains good. Mental-emotional symptom clusters, diagnosed time, nutritional risk, leisure activities, age, and sex are the influencing factors. Timely assessment of these factors and management of cognitive function of lung cancer patients are critical to enhancing their quality of life.

Key words: lung cancer, cognitive function, symptom cluster, nutritional risk, leisure activity
