Qualitative Research on Experience of Clinical Nurses in Evidence-based Practice Training

Abstract: Objective To understand the experience of clinical nurses in evidence-based practice training,and to provide reference for promoting evidence-based practice training system.Methods With phenomenological method,13 nurses in evidence-based practice were interviewed.The Colaizii's 7-step analysis method was used to analyze the data.Results Five themes were extracted in terms of the experience of training including the approval of evidence-based practice training,promotion of evidence-based practice knowledge and skills,change of clinical thinking,benefit of career development and improvement of professional identity.Three themes were summarized in terms of training suggestions:improvement of training curriculum,diversity of training methods and strengthening faculty training.Conclusion Evidence-based practice training is beneficial to nurses' critical thinking and scientific research competence,and the level of evidence-based practice.Nursing managers should pay attention to different development needs of clinical nurses,and provide multi-level and targeted evidence-based practice training with rich training content,diversified training methods,multi-disciplinary training faculty,and quality clinical practice tutor,so as to further improve and optimize the evidence-based practice training system.
