Extended Nursing Need of Stroke Patients and Its Influence Factors

Abstract: Objective To understand the extended nursing need of stroke patients and analyze its influence factors. Methods With random sampling method, 240 hospitalized stroke patients were investigated by a questionnaire of extended nursing need and then the influence factors were analyzed by multiple linear regression. Result With Likert scale, the score of extended nursing need of stroke patients was 4.32±0.57. Regarding to remote service of APP, patients were concerned more about online inquiry, appointment of home nursing, health education and blood monitoring. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that age, marital status, occupation, current residence, whether combined with hypertension,caregivers entered the regression equation, which accounted for 50.4% of the total variance. Conclusion Stroke patients are in an emergent need for extended nursing and they have a strong but different desire for APP, particularly for its function of remote service. Age, marital status, occupation, current residence, whether combined with hypertension or not and the caregiver are the influence factors of extended nursing need.
