Abstract: Objective To explore the relationship among psychological resilience, mindfulness level and quality of life in female patients with upper extremity lymphedema after mastectomy, and to improve their quality of life. Methods With purposive sampling method, 156 patients with upper limb lymphedema after mastectomy in 2 tertiary grade A hospitals were investigated by using Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, Mindful Attention Awareness Scale and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy breast+4. The mediation effect of psychological resilience was constructed and analyzed by AMOS 17.0, and the mediation effect model was verified by Bootstrap method. Results The score of psychological resilience in patients with upper extremity lymphedema after mastectomy was positively correlated with that of mindfulness level and quality of life (r=0.436, r=0.527, P<0.001). There was also a positive correlation between the score of mindfulness and that of quality of life (r=0.662,P<0.001). Resilience played a partial mediating role between quality of life and mindfulness level, accounting for 31.6% of the total effect. Conclusion Psychological resilience plays a partial mediating role between mindfulness level and quality of life, and patients' quality of life could be promoted through improving the level of mindfulness and psychological resilience.

Key words: upper limb lymphedema after mastectomy, psychological resilience, mediating effect
