Abstract: Objective To conduct a scoping review of the application of message framing theory within the field of health management, and to provide reference for researchers to utilize the theory for practical research. Methods Using Arksey and O'Malley framework of scoping review, we systematically searched domestic and international databases including CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, Sinomed, PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, CINAHL, etc., to collect research pertaining to the application of message framing theory in the field of health management. The retrieval period spanned from the inception to December 2023. Results A total of 2 855 articles were retrieved, and 16 were finally included, with 15 in English and 1 in Chinese. The content of health management based on message framing theory covered 3 aspects of providing health-related information such as disease knowledge and treatment, self-care and decision support;; the application form included 7 forms of videos, text messages, electronic information, knowledge lectures, follow-up visits, health brochures and cell phone text messages; and the outcome index involved 3 aspects of self-management behaviors, physical activity behaviors, and medication and treatment adherence, all of which had a positive effect. Conclusion Practical research based on message framing theory is feasible and effective, and can significantly improve patients' health behaviors and health beliefs, with broad application prospects. However, there is still a large gap between domestic research and foreign research, and scholars in China should focus on theory interpretation and initiating practical research in health management under its guidance.;
