Abstract: Objective To analyze the research on the application of question prompt list (QPL) in oncology doctor-patient communication, to explore the development, application object and evaluation index, and the practical significance of QPL in domestic cancer nursing, and to provide reference for clinical application. Methods Databases such as PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Google Scholar, CINAHL, CNKI and CBM were systematically searched from the inception to May 2023, and the articles were screened, analyzed, extracted and summarized. Results Totally 1,678 articles were retrieved, and 21 articles were finally included. There was no unified standard for the development of QPL, including three steps of draft development, feasibility evaluation and application effect evaluation. The application targets of QPL focused on advanced cancer patients and patients receiving palliative care. The application effect evaluation indicators included patient engagement, communication effect, information recall ability and patients' psychological statements. Conclusion Most of the researches on the application of QPL in the communication between doctors and cancer patients come from abroad, while relevant researches in China are still in its infancy. It is suggested that medical staff develop a QPL suitable for China with the mature experience of foreign countries, and use it in clinical practice flexibly, so as to encourage patients to participate in medical consultation and decision-making actively, and promote the communication between doctors and cancer patients.

Key words: question prompt list, oncology, doctor-patient relationship, shared decision making, scoping review
