Best Evidence Summary for Management of Inter-hospital Transport for Newborns

Abstract: Objective To retrieve and obtain relevant evidence of neonatal transfer management, and provide clinical reference, so as to reduce the incidence of adverse neonatal transfer events and ensure the safety of neonatal transfer. Methods With evidence-based nursing method, questions of the prevention and management of adverse events in neonatal transport were raised. We retrieved relevant literature, and with the literature evaluation standards and evidence grading of the Australian JBI Evidence-based Health Care Center, we conducted literature quality evaluation and evidence grading. Results Combined with professional judgments, 24 pieces of evidence related to newborn transfer were summarized, including transfer department construction, management, team, training, decision-making, equipment, measures, quality control, supervision and feedback, etc. Conclusion This study has summarized the best evidence for neonatal transfer management, providing evidence-based evidence for clinical medical staff and nursing managers. By applying the best evidence to manage and prevent the occurrence of adverse neonatal transfer events in a scientific way, the quality of medical care can be improved, thus to ensure the safety of neonatal transfer.
