Abstract: Objective To systematically evaluate the influence of quiet time on inpatients. Methods We searched the databases including CNKI, WangFang, SinoMed, PubMed, Web of Science, ScienceDirect and Scopus for interventional studies on the influence of quiet time for inpatients from the inception to July 2020. The quality of the included articles was evaluated by the JBI Critical Appraisal Tool for qualitative studies in Australia. Descriptive analysis and meta-analysis were also performed. Results Ten experimental studies were included. Meta analysis showed that sound level during quiet time intervention was significantly lower [MD=-7.92, 95%CI (-11.04, -4.80), P<0.001]; quiet time intervention had a certain effect on improving patients’ sleep. However, there were disparities in research results. Conclusion Quiet time has a certain positive effect on patients, but due to the limitation of the number and quality of the included studies, the research conclusions need to be verified by more empirical studies.
