Effect of Workshop Teaching Mode in Training of Lateral Position Placement for New Nurses in Operating Room

Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of workshop teaching mode in the training of lateral position placement for new nurses in operating room. Methods Fifteen nurses recruited in August 2017 were involved as the control group, and another 12 nurses recruited in July 2018 as the observation group. Demonstration training was adopted in the control group, while workshop teaching mode in the observation group. Theoretical and operational test scores, training satisfaction and training effect were assessed in the two groups. Results The theoretical score, the clinical operation test score, and the satisfaction with the teaching mode in the observation group was higher than those in the control group respectively (all P<0.001). Conclusion The mode of workshop training is effective for improving the theoretical knowledge and practical operation of new nurses.Effective training can improve the theoretical level and professional skills of nursing staff, and ultimately achieve the correct positioning of patients.
