Influence Factors of Pregnancy Stress in Urban Women during Pregnancy

Abstract: Objective To learn the prevalence of pregnancy stress of urban women in Western China and analyze its influence factors. Methods Totally 869 pregnant women receiving pregnant care in 3 tertiary grade A hospitals of Xi'an Province were investigated by using the general information questionnaire and the Pregnancy Stress Scale (PSS). Results Of the total, 75.3% of urban pregnant women showed mild stress and the stress mainly from how to ensure maternal and child health and safety. Generalized linear regression model showed that birth insurance, planned pregnancy, late pregnancy, parity, abortion history were the influence factors of pregnancy stress of urban pregnant women. Conclusion Pregnancy stress of urban pregnant women is mainly mild. Birth insurance, pregnancy planning, late pregnancy, parity and abortion history are closely related to the severity of pregnant stress of urban women.
