Abstract: Objective To explore the potential classification of perceived professional benefits of nurses in secondary hospitals and to analyze the characteristic differences of different types of nurses. Method General information questionnaire, Nurses' Perceived Professional Benefits Questionnaire and Nursing Work Environment Scale were used to survey 721 registered nurses in 9 secondary hospitals in Henan Province. Latent profile analysis was used to identify the potential classifications of perceived professional benefits of the nurses, and multiple logistic regression analysis was performed to assess the effect of each factor on different categories. Results The perceived professional benefits of nurses in secondary hospitals were divided into three categories: low benefit and low perception (6.4%), medium-high benefit and good nursing-patient relationship (69.6%), and high benefit and high relationship growth (24.0%). Sex, age and nursing working environment were predictive factors for the potential classifications of perceived professional benefits of nurses in secondary hospitals (P<0.05). Conclusion There are 3 potential categories of perceived professional benefits of nurses in secondary hospitals, and hospital managers should pay attention to the classifications of nurses of different sexes and ages, and implement targeted management measures to improve the perceived professional benefits of nurses in secondary hospitals, such as building a healthy and friendly nursing working environment.
