Abstract: Objective To conduct a bibliometric analysis on the frontiers, hotspots and development directions of maternal sensitivity. Methods We searched literature regarding maternal sensitivity or mother sensitivity in Web of Science from the inception to July 1, 2021. The eligible literature was analyzed in terms of country, discipline distribution, published journals, authors, institutions and keywords. Results A total of 374 papers were collected, and the number of papers presented an overall growing tendency. The United States topped the list of paper publication, followed by the United Kingdom and Germany. The top three disciplines were psychology, psychiatry and pediatrics; Maternal-infant attachment, mother-infant interaction, temperament, children, behavior problem, maternal depression, postpartum depression, risks, intervention, cognitive development and cortisol were important supporting points in this field. Conclusion Research on maternal sensitivity is currently in development stage. A core group of authors has been formed abroad, and the research results and methods of related authors are worthy of attention. Domestic research in this field needs to be further developed and improved.
