Abstract: Objective To conduct a bibliometric analysis on current status of moxibustion in the treatment of hemiplegia after stroke, and to provide reference for the standardization of moxibustion treatment. Methods We searched literature from CNKI, WanFang, VIP,CBM,PubMed, AMED and Web of Science from the inception to September 2019. Bicomb2.0 software was utilized to analyze basic information and main contents of the research. Results A total of 114 studies were included. The research content showed that the majority of patients with hemiplegia after stroke included in the literature were spastic hemiplegia, ischemic stroke, qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome, and the stage of disease was in convalescent. The moxibustion treatment schemes were different, and lacked Objective assessment indexes. The moxibustion time ranged mainly from 15 to 30 minutes and treatment cycle of moxibustion from 1 to 2 months, 5 to 6 per week. Moxibustion method was mainly warm-needle moxibustion and suspended moxibustion. In the selection of meridians and acupoints, it showed the acupoints were mainly Yang meridians, of which Quchi (LI 11), Hegu (LI 4), Jianyu (LI 15) and Zusanli (ST 36) were commonly selected. Conclusion Without a comprehensive and perfect evaluation system, research design for moxibustion treatment of hemiplegia after stroke have lacked standard norm moxibustion treatment scheme. Warm-needle moxibustion and suspended moxibustion are the main moxibustion therapies, and the majority of the selected acupoints are Yang meridians.
