Effect of Nursing Project Management on Patients with Greater Risk of Falls

Abstract: Objective To explore the application effect of nursing project management on patients with greater risk of falls. Methods A nursing project team was established. Using the convenient sampling method, 80 patients with medium and high risk of falls in the Department of Cardiology of a tertiary hospital in Xiamen from May 2020 to May 2021 were selected as the research object. Forty patients with greater risk of falls from May 1 to May 15, 2020 were selected as the control group with routine health education of fall prevention, and another 40 patients with medium and high risk of falls from May 1 to May 15, 2021 were involved in observation group to implement the nursing project management. The fall prevention knowledge and fall prevention compliance of the two groups before and after the project management were compared, and the fall incidence of cardiology patients one year before and after the project management was compared. Results The level of fall prevention knowledge and compliance in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.001). The incidence of falls in department of cardiology one year after the implementation of project management decreased from 0.247‰ to 0. Conclusion The nursing project management can effectively improve the knowledge of fall prevention and compliance of patients, thus to improve the quality of nursing.
