Return-to-work Adaptability of 245 Nurses after Second Childbirth and Its Influence Factors

Abstract: Objective To understand the adaptability of return-to-work of nurses after the second childbirth and analyze the influencing factors. Methods With cluster sampling, from June to December 2017, return-to-work of nurses after the second childbirth from People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University and the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University were investigated by using the general information questionnaire and questionnaire of Return Adaptation for Postpartum Nurse. The influencing factors were analyzed by binary logistic regression. Results The total mean score of adaptability was 2.48±0.77 and the age when give birth to the second child, the work intensity of the department were the protective factors of adaptation while nationality, days of return-to-work and with training for return-to-work or not the risk factors (P<0.05). Conclusion The adaptability of return-to-work of nurses in the study is in the medium or below level. Great attention should be paid to younger mothers, minority nurses, those from department with high work intensity, those newly returning to work and those without training and effective measures should be taken to improve the level of adaptation.
