Abstract: Objective To explore the multiple mediating roles of ethical sensitivity and job embeddedness on nurses' perceived managed care and job satisfaction. Methods With convenience sampling, 773 nurses from 5 hospitals in Hunan Province were surveyed from July to August 2020 by using the general information questionnaire, Managed Care Scale, Ethical Sensitivity Scale, Job Embeddedness Scale and Job Satisfaction Scale. And the chain-mediated model was constructed and tested. Results The total score of managed care perceived by 773 nurses was 152.00 (134.50, 165.00). The total score of ethical sensitivity, job embeddedness and job satisfaction was 39.00(36.00,44.00), 26.00(22.00,28.00), and 74.00(67.00,80.00) respectively. The indirect effect of managed care perceived by nurses on job satisfaction was established, and the total indirect effect of managed care on job satisfaction was 0.284. The specific mediating effect of ethical sensitivity accounted for 20.8% of the total indirect effect and that of job embedding accounted for 70.4% of the total indirect effect. The chain mediating effect between ethical sensitivity and job embeddedness in nurses' perceived managed care and job satisfaction accounted for 8.8% of the total indirect effect. Conclusion There are multiple mediating effects of ethical sensitivity and job embeddedness on nurses' perceived managed care and job satisfaction. The care for nurses, different training plans, enhanced ethical sensitivity and sense of identity and dependence on the organization are conducive to the improvement of job satisfaction.
