Current Status of Perceived Professional Benefits and Its Influence Factors in Nurses from One Municipal TCM Hospital

Abstract: Objective To investigate the current status of nurses' perceived professional benefits and its influence factors. Methods A total of 195 clinical nurses from a tertiary grade A Chinese medicine hospital were selected and investigated with general information questionnaire, Nurse Professional Benefit Questionnaire, Psychological Capital Scale and Education Participant Scale. Variance analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis were performed. Results The total score of nurses' perceived professional benefit was 136.75±26.26. Nurses' perceived professional benefit was positively correlated with psychological capital and learning motivation (r=0.970, 0.287, P<0.01). External expectation, optimism and self-efficacy were the main influencing factors of nurses' perceived professional benefit (P<0.05). Conclusion Nurses' perceived professional benefit maintains in a mediate or above level, which still needs to be improved. Nurses' perceived professional benefit is positively correlated with their psychological capital and learning motivation. The higher the level of nurses' psychological capital and learning motivation, the stronger their perceived professional benefit. Nursing managers should pay attention to nurses' external expectations, optimism and self-efficacy, and take targeted interventions to improve their perceived professional benefit, which is conducive to stabilizing nursing talents team and improving the quality of nursing service.
