Reliability and Validity of Chinese version of Fatalism Scale in Patients with hematologic malignancies

Abstract: Objective To test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of Fatalism Scale in patients with hematologic malignancies. Methods From June to December 2021, 213 patients with hematologic malignancies hospitalized in hematology department of a tertiary specialized hospital in Tianjin were selected by convenient sampling, and the reliability and validity of the Fatalism Scale were tested. Results The final version of the Chinese version of Fatalism Scale consisted of 14 items and 3 dimensions. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the three factor structure model fitted well (χ2/df=1.139, RMESA=0.026). The total Cronbach α was 0.901, and that of each dimension ranged between 0.823 and 0.888. Conclusion The Chinese version of Fatalism Scale has good reliability and validity, and can be used to evaluate the fatalism level of patients with hematologic malignancies.
