Construction of core competency evaluation index system for chief resident nurses

Abstract: Objective To construct a core competence evaluation index system for chief resident nurses, and to provide reference for the education, training and assessment of chief resident nurses. Methods The core competence evaluation index system for chief resident nurses was preliminarily established after literature review, semi-structured interview and group discussion. Delphi method was used to conduct an expert consultation to develop the final evaluation index system, and analytic hierarchy process to determine the weight of each index. Results Two rounds of letter consultation were conducted in seventeen experts. The core competence evaluation index system for chief resident nurses was finally established, including 5 first-level, 20 second-level and 59 third-level indicators. The expert authority coefficient was 0.841, and the Kendall coordination coefficient of two rounds of experts 0.165 and 0.166, respectively (P<0.01). Conclusion The core competence evaluation index system for chief resident nurses constructed in this study is scientific and reliable, which can provide quantitative reference for future training and evaluation of chief resident nurses.
