Abstract: Objective To translate the Comprehensive Assessment Scale for Post-stroke Disability into Chinese, and to test its reliability and validity. Methods Brislin translation and back translation, expert review and pre-survey were employed for the translation and cultural adaptation of the scale. Convenience sampling was used to select 203 stroke patients for the investigation. Item analysis was conducted, and its retest reliability, inter-rater reliability, content validity and Criterion-related validity were verified. Results The correlation analysis of the retest reliability of the scale showed that the correlation coefficient was 0.988. The inter-confidence Kappa coefficient was 0.846(95% confidence interval: 0.793~0.899)(P<0.001), and the content validity index of the scale 0.935(95% confidence interval: 0.833~1.000). Using the modified Rankin scale as the standard, the Criterion-related validity coefficient was 0.896. Conclusion The Chinese version of the Comprehensive Assessment Scale for Post-stroke Disability has good reliability and validity and can be used as a tool for the assessment of stroke disability in China.
