Effect of Information Perception on Mental Health of Ophthalmic Nurses

Abstract: Objective To explore the mediating role of information perception on perceived stress and its moderating role on social support in mental health of ophthalmic nurses. Methods Information Perception Scale, Chinese Perceived Stress Scale, Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS) and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-20) were used to investigate 736 ophthalmic nurses in Henan Province. Results After perceptual stress was included, the direct effect of information perception on mental health was still significant (β=0.493, t=15.254, P<0.001), and the mediating effect of perceived stress on mental health was statistically significant (β=-0.182, t=-5.617, P<0.001), accounting for 12.3% of the total effect. The interaction between perceived stress and social support was included, and the results showed that the interaction had a statistically significant effect on nurses'mental health (β=0.186, t=6.972, P<0.001). Conclusion Perceived stress has a partial mediating effect between information perception and mental health of ophthalmic nurses. The mediating effect of perceived stress is moderated by social support, that is, the influence of information perception on the mental health of ophthalmic nurses has a moderating mediating effect.
