Establishment of Management System for COVID-19 Prevention in Intensive Care Unit and Its Effect

Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of management system for COVID-19 prevention in intensive care unit (ICU). Methods After literature review and current situation analysis of the department, we set up a management group for COVID-19 prevention in ICU, and established a prevention system for COVID-19 infection in ICU, including prevention and management measures, human resource allocation, pre-post protection training, establishment of frontline team, and humanistic care. We also improved the system according to expert opinions and updated knowledge, as well as the effect feedback. Results After the establishment of the management system, 16 online trainings were conducted, 6 batches of a total of 60 doctors and nurses were sent out and a psychological counseling team was set up, which completed consultation for 10 persons. No infection was found in ICU medical staff and no cross-infection between patients before February 12. Conclusion Management system for COVID-19 prevention in ICU is effective for the treatment and nursing of severe patients, and the physical and mental health of ICU medical staff, and makes it possible to establish a high quality medical team for the fight.
