Abstract: Objective To investigate the status of psychological resilience in patients with multiple myeloma and to explore its influence factors. Methods With a cross-sectional survey method, 144 patients with multiple myeloma were investigated in the outpatient and inpatient department of a tertiary grade A hospital by using a general information questionnaire, Psychoelasticity Scale, Social Support Rating Scale and Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire. Factors affecting were analyzed by multiple linear regression analysis. Results The score of psychological resilience of patients with multiple myeloma was 56.24±16.22. Six factors of family monthly income, long-term residence, payment method of medical expense, subjective support, Objective support, and submissive coping style entered into the multiple regression equation, explaining 66.2% of the total variation. Conclusion The patients with multiple myeloma have poor psychological resilience. More attention should be paid to patients with lower monthly family income, those from remote areas, those with less subjective or Objective support and those with submissive coping style. Medical staff should take the influence factors into consideration and provide personalized medical treatment for the patients. More accompanying from family members, more social support and a positive coping style are helpful for improving the level of psychological resilience.
