Abstract: Objective To explore the current status of decision fatigue among patients with breast cancer and its influencing factors, and to provide reference for formulating targeted decision support measures. Methods A total of 400 patients with breast cancer from 3 general hospitals in Huizhou City, Guangdong Province from November 2023 to May 2024 were selected by convenience sampling. The General Information Questionnaire, Decision Fatigue Scale, Decision Conflict Scale, Preparation for Decision Making Scale, Social Support Rating Scale, and All Aspects of Health Literacy Scale were used to conduct the investigation. Results The score of Decision Fatigue Scale for patients with breast cancer was 17.93±4.40. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that educational background, lack of specific tumor stage, sleep duration, treatment methods experienced, decision conflict, decision preparation and social support were the influencing factors of decision fatigue(P<0.05). Conclusion Decision fatigue of patients with breast cancer is at a moderate level. Healthcare providers should take the influencing factors into consideration and take effective measures to timely detect and reduce decision fatigue of patients, thus to improve their decision enthusiasm.

Key words: breast cancer, decision fatigue, decision conflict, preparation for decision making, social support, care
