Abstract: Objective To investigate the current status and explore its influencing factors of sedentary behavior of the elderly in medical-nursing combined institutions in Hefei. Methods A total of 210 elderly people in 3 medical-nursing combined institutions in Hefei from May to August 2021 were selected by convenience sampling, and they completed the demographic characteristic questionnaire, Fear of Falling Assessment, Simple Frailty Questionnaire (FRAIL), Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-30) and International physical Activity Questionnaire Short Form Questionnaire((IPAQ-SF). Multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze the factors influencing the sedentary behavior of the elderly. Results The sedentary time of the elderly in medical-nursing combined institutions in Hefei was 7.09±1.66 h/d, and 153 (72.9%) of the elderly had a sedentary time≥6 h/d. Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that sex, age, with the hobby of sedentary behavior or not, frailty, fear of falling, self-rated health, and depression influenced the sedentary behavior of the elderly in medical-nursing combined institutions(P<0.05), explaining 62.2% of the total variance. Conclusion The average daily total sedentary time of the elderly in medical-nursing combined institutions is shorter than that in common nursing home, but the problem still should not be ignored. More attention should be paid to elderly men, those with older age, those with the hobby of sedentary behavior, weak elderly people, those with fear of falling, those with poor self-assessment of health, and severe depression. Targeted and feasible intervention strategies should be considered to improve the status of sedentary behavior, so as to improve the quality of life of the elderly and promote healthy aging.
