Abstract: Objective To systematically summarize the stigmatization toward HIV/AIDS patients in life and medical treatment, to understand their inner demands, and provide reference for better intervention for HIV/AIDS patients. Methods The Cochrane Library, PubMed, JBI, CINAHL, Web of Science, Science Direct, EBSCO database, Embase database, CNKI, Wanfang database, China Biomedical database, VIP database and Taiwan academic literature database were searched from the inception to 18 August, 2021, to collect the qualitative research on the stigmatization towards AIDS patients. The results were analyzed by using aggregative integration. Results Seventeen studies were included, and 51 well-defined research results were extracted. Similar research results were summarized into 6 new categories, and 3 integrated results were obtained: self-stigmatization leading to continuous accumulation of negative emotions and avoidance of society, family stigmatization leading to the resistance and rejection of family members to HIV/AIDS patients, and public stigmatization leading to public accusations, humiliation and excessive behavioral prevention of AIDS patients. Conclusion The establishment of healthy self-perception, good family support system and stable medical system is an important way to eliminate the stigmatization towards HIV/AIDS patients.

Key words: qualitative research, HIV/AIDS, stigmatization, Meta-synthesis
