Abstract: Objective To survey the status quo of cross-cultural critical thinking ability of nursing undergraduates in a medical college and analyze the influence factors, so as to provide reference for the reform of nursing education and teaching in medical colleges and universities in the new era. Methods By convenience sampling, 480 nursing undergraduates from a medical college were selected and surveyed by using general information questionnaire and cross-cultural critical thinking ability scale from September to December in 2019. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze the influence factors. Results The score of cross-cultural critical thinking ability of nursing undergraduates was 108.77±10.46 and multiple linear regression analysis showed that the main influence factors were passing CET-4 or CET-6, winning prizes in humanistic competition, taking humanistic courses, and taking cross-cultural critical thinking courses (P<0.05), which accounted for 37.1% of the total variance. Conclusion Cross-cultural critical thinking ability of nursing undergraduates is at an intermediate or below level. Great importance should be attached to College English, to help students to pass CET-4 or CET-6 to improve students’ English level; developing second classroom activities and taking measures to encourage students to participate in humanistic competition; setting related humanities courses and cross-cultural critical thinking ability courses as compulsory or elective courses, to further improve teaching mode, so as to cultivate innovative and high-quality nursing talents.
