Abstract: Objective To investigate the status of readiness for discharge among women with cesarean delivery. Methods We conducted a convenience sampling study and women with cesarean delivery from September 2016 to December 2017 were investigated by using the general information questionnaire and Readiness for Hospital Discharge Scale (RHDS). Results The total score of readiness for hospital discharge among women with cesarean delivery was 171.07±28.32. Univariate analysis showed that there were significant differences of readiness for hospital discharge among the cesarean delivery women with different parities, education background, annual household income, health education, whether having caregiver or not and whether with complications or not (P<0.05). Conclusion The readiness for hospital discharge in women with cesarean delivery was at a higher level. Great importance should be attached to the health education of primipara, women with lower education, lower annual household income, dissatisfaction with health education and those without caregivers and those with complications. More knowledge about maternal and child care during puerperium, participation in maternity schools, health education during the delivery, emotional support and discharge guidance will benefit the recovery of women with cesarean delivery.
