SWOT Analysis of Multiple-site Medical Practice of Nursing Staff

Abstract: Objective To explore the internal and external conditions of multiple-site medical practice of nursing staff in China and put forward the corresponding development strategies. Methods SWOT analysis was used to analyze the internal environment(strength and weakness) and external conditions(opportunity and threat) of multiple-site medical practice of nursing staff. Results Strength of multiple-site medical practice of nursing staff included alleviating the pressure of long-term shortage of nursing human resources in China, reflecting the labor value of nursing staff and meeting the nursing needs of patients; weakness was manifested because nursing staff may pay more attention to the economic benefits but not their own mission and due to the limited time and energy of nursing staff, there were increasing medical risks. Opportunities included vigorous support from national policies, the development of the internet, and the world development trend in this field and threat were gaps in supporting policies and the difficulty in hospital management. Conclusion There are advantages and disadvantages in carrying out multiple-site medical practice of nursing staff and its opportunities and threats go hand in hand. In the process of implementation, various factors should be taken into consideration and balanced, and the corresponding strategies for multiple-site medical practice should be put forward.
