Establishment and practice of nurse specialist-led comprehensive nursing clinic

Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of comprehensive nursing clinic led by nurse specialist. Methods We established the comprehensive nursing clinic in June 2021, and qualified nurse specialists were selected to provide wound care, ostomy care, PICC nursing, drainage tube nursing, nursing consultation and home nursing for patients. The practical effect of comprehensive nursing clinic was evaluated in terms of workload, economic benefit, patient waiting time, patient and medical staff satisfaction. Results Since the operation of the comprehensive nursing clinic, there were 17,211 visiting patients, 1,152 cases of nursing consultations and 215 cases of home nursing. The number of outpatient visit increased by 63.57%; annual economic income increased by 135.77%; waiting time of patients was significantly shortened, and the satisfaction of patients and medical staff increased significantly, showing statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion Comprehensive nursing clinic meets the medical needs of patients, improves the satisfaction of patients and medical staff, and promotes the sense of professional value and professional skills of nursing staff.
