Efficacy of different non-drug interventions on cancer-related fatigue in breast cancer patients: a network Meta-analysis

Abstract: Objective To evaluate and compare the efficacy of different non-drug interventions on cancer-related fatigue in breast cancer patients, and to provide evidence for the formulation of relevant intervention programs. Methods We systematically retrieved randomized controlled trials(RCT)on the effects of non-drug interventions on cancer-related fatigue in breast cancer patients from CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP, CBM, Medline, PubMed, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library. The retrieval period spanned from the inception to August 2024. Stata14.0 was used for data analysis. Results A total of 38 studies were included,including 12 non-pharmaceutical interventions,involving 3 901 breast cancer patients. The Results showed that compared with conventional care, resistance and high-intensity interval training, aerobic and high-intensity interval exercise, cognitive behavioral therapy, yoga and massage had better effects on cancer-related fatigue in breast cancer patients(P<0.05). The area under the cumulative rank probability map showed that resistance and high-intensity interval training was the best non-drug intervention. Conclusion A combination of resistance exercise and high-intensity interval training is the most effective for alleviating fatigue in breast cancer patients, and it is recommended that clinical nursing prioritize this approach. However, a large number of high-quality RCTs are still needed for the verification.
