Construction of training program for neurology nurse specialists based on job competence

Abstract

Objective To construct a scientific and feasible training program for neurology nurse specialists and to provide a basis for training program of neurology nurse specialists in China. Methods Using the job competency model as a guide, we constructed training indexes through literature research and semi-structured interviews, and employed Delphi method to select 18 experts for 3 rounds of correspondence to form the final training program. Results Effective recovery rates of the 3 rounds of expert consultation were all 100%, and expert authority coefficients were 0.890, 0.887, and 0.912, respectively. The final program consisted of 5 first-level, 13 secondary-level, and 65 third-level indexes, with coefficients of variation for importance of each entry ranging from 0 to 0.240, and coefficient of Kendall's concordance（W）of 0.162（P<0.001）. Conclusion The training program for neurology nurse specialists constructed based on job competency is scientific and reliable, and can provide reference for theoretical learning and practice of neurology nurse specialists in China.
